FAQ

Questions, answered

The things people usually ask before booking a call: pricing, process, data, and what to actually expect.

General

What kind of business is this a fit for?
Growing businesses roughly in the $250K–$5M revenue range, across any industry, where data is scattered across tools like Shopify, QuickBooks, ad platforms, POS systems, and spreadsheets, and nobody inside the company owns pulling it together yet. If you're under that, reach out anyway; we can talk through whether it's a fit.
What if my business is under $250K in revenue?
$250K is a rough floor, not a hard cutoff. It's more about whether your data is complex enough to justify the cost, not a strict number. Book a free discovery call and we'll tell you honestly whether it makes sense yet.
Can I see what a dashboard actually looks like before I commit to anything?
Yes, check out our live sample dashboard. It's built with sample data so you can see the shape of a real engagement before booking a call.
Do you offer bookkeeping, tax prep, or accounting services?
No. We build dashboards and deliver monthly insight from your existing data: sales, marketing, financials, operations, all in one place. We don't touch your books, file your taxes, or do accounting cleanup. Most clients keep their bookkeeper or CPA and add us on top; if you don't have one, we can point you to a referral partner.

Pricing & Process

How much does a dashboard build cost?
It depends on how many data sources you need connected and whether your data is API-ready (native platform logins) or manual (CSV/Excel exports). Use the pricing calculator for a live estimate, or book a free discovery call and we'll scope it together.
How long does a build take?
Most builds land between 2 and 8 weeks depending on complexity. The exact timeline is based on the number of data sources and whether they're API-connected or manual exports.
What happens after the dashboard is built?
Most clients move into an ongoing retainer where the dashboard stays hosted and maintained, and we meet monthly to walk through what changed, why, and what to do next. Hosting-only options are available too if you just want the tool running.
Do I have to pay the full amount upfront?
You can pay in full at kickoff, or split it 50% now and 50% in 30 days for a small added fee. See the pricing calculator for exact numbers.
Can I cancel or pause my retainer?
Yes. Retainers are month-to-month unless you've chosen a quarterly or annual prepay discount. We'll always talk it through with you before anything lapses.

Data & Results

What integrations do you offer?
We connect to hundreds of data sources, everything from Shopify, QuickBooks, and Stripe to Meta Ads, Google Ads, HubSpot, and most POS systems. If your platform doesn't have a native connection, we can most likely still bring it in through Zapier, so it's rare that we can't work with what you're already using.
Is my data secure? What do you connect to?
We connect to your platforms (including QuickBooks, via a secure accountant-level login) through read-only API or login access, so your dashboard stays current automatically. We never edit or write anything back to your source systems.

If you'd rather we not connect to your systems directly, you can send us monthly exports instead and we'll update your dashboard manually. This option comes at an additional charge, since manual updates take extra time on our end each month.

Data security is something we take seriously. With over 20 years in data and systems work, following best practices isn't optional. Login credentials are stored in an encrypted password manager, never sent over email or chat, and access is limited to only what's needed to build and maintain your dashboard.
What if my data is messy or I only have manual exports?
That's normal, and it's what the manual-data pricing track is built for. It takes a bit more setup and a monthly export from you, but it works the same way in the end: one unified view instead of scattered files.
Do you guarantee results?
No, and we'd be skeptical of anyone who says they do. Dashboards and insights are based on the data you provide and are meant to help you make better decisions faster. They're informational, not a guarantee of revenue, profit, or any specific business outcome, and they aren't financial, legal, or accounting advice.

That said, we do stand behind the deliverable itself. Every build includes a revision round, so if the first version of your dashboard isn't quite hitting the mark, we'll work with you to get it there before we call it done.
